IFEMA, and Italian Exhibition Group IEG, have recently entered into an agreement. The leading trade fair operators from Spain and Italy, respectively, will work together on international expansion projects by designing joint activities in strategic sectors for both institutions.
IEG is an important asset in the Italian trade fair market, and is the result of a merger between Fiera de Rimini and Fiera de Vicenza. The organisation now has more of its own trade fairs than any other operator in Italy. One of these events is Vicenza Oro, a jewellery sector fair, with an international position, and a version in Dubai. For its part, IFEMA has a portfolio of more than 80 fairs, 60% of which more tare organised by the institution itself, with international landmark events likes FITUR, ARCOmadrid, and Fruit Attraction, some of the world’s most prestigious in their sectors, as well as presence in Latin America, Asia and Africa.
Both institutions share common interests relating to brand positioning in the international area through exhibition projects and expansion of their activity in markets of interest, as well as to support business internationalisation. In this sense, the agreement expresses their desire to work together to develop joint projects for international expansion, with focus on Asia and Latin America; to analyse business opportunities in leading sectors in their respective asset portfolios; to encourage and facilitate participation of national businesses in the main foreign fairs organised by the two organizations.
The collaboration arrangement will be open to as many initiatives as can be analysed and implemented, and aims to improve the positioning of both brands, IFEMA and IEG, in the international trade fair market.
